The installation LIFE - fluid, invisible, inaudible... by Ryuichi Sakmoto and Shiro Takatani is now finished. Sakamoto went on to other projects, especially the concert Live Earth with the rest of YMO:

But before, the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media offered a few discussion panels and guided visits of the exhibition. Here is the view of the screens/water tanks from the top:
The normal viewing position is from below.
The guides confirmed that most of the images and sounds used in this installation were from the 1999 opera LIFE, with a few extras especially created by Alva Noto. The library of the Center has on display several rare books related to LIFE, for example the Japanese limited edition 4 cd box set + photo book.

More Koi
Japanese ornemental carps are called Koi. They can grow up to extraordinary sizes and impressive prices.
So I was surprised to see a big orange fish in the river next to my house:
(can you spot it?)
and on closer inspection, it was not one, but several koi!
I haven't checked if fishing is authorized here... (^o^) Since then I have seen lots of these big carps in the river, mostly brown but a few are white and orange.
